Service Lead (registered or certifying plumber, drainlayer & gasfitter)

At Ka Pai Plumbing, we're looking for an experienced plumber who's ready for more than just another service role.

This is an opportunity to lead, influence, and help grow our service team while remaining hands-on on the tools.

You'll work alongside our Operations team and Managing Director to deliver exceptional service, support our growing team, and help shape the systems, culture, and standards that will define our service team for years to come.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading our day-to-day service team.

  • Delivering high-quality plumbing, drainlaying and gasfitting work.

  • Mentoring and supporting our service team.

  • Quoting and managing straightforward service work.

  • Building strong relationships with customers.

  • Driving quality, accountability and continuous improvement.

Our Service Team

Our service work is varied, with no two days looking the same.

We deliver:

  • Responsive maintenance

  • Planned maintenance

  • Small renovations and upgrades

  • Hot water cylinder replacements

  • Leak detection and repairs

  • Water mains and drainage repairs

  • Bathroom alterations

  • General residential plumbing

Much of our work comes from long-term partnerships where we provide both responsive and planned maintenance services across residential and community properties. Alongside this, we work with homeowners throughout the Wellington region on a wide range of service plumbing projects.

Today, our service team consists of one dedicated service plumber. Our vision is to grow that team, and the person who steps into this role will play a significant part in shaping what it becomes.

This isn't a role where you'll simply inherit someone else's systems. You'll help build the service team alongside us - developing people, improving processes, influencing how we operate, and creating a team you're proud to lead.
